Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Practitioners (AP) are highly qualified practitioners who have received extensive, additional training to provide an advanced level of patient care.  Our AP is an excellent resource within the surgery, working alongside GP’s.  AP’s work within a defined scope of practice and can assess, diagnose, treat and refer, just like a doctor.

Practice Nurses enable the practice to offer a holistic range of care and treatments.  Practice Nurses treat and advise patients on self-care for the management of short term and long term conditions.  Amongst a wide range of services, Practice Nurses give vaccinations / immunisations, carry out smear tests and annual reviews.

Our Practice Nurse is also trained in minor illness and holds a daily minor illness clinic for suitable conditions.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare Assistants (HCA) support the clinical team in the service and delivery of medical care within the practice.  Our HCA conducts some annual reviews of long term conditions, will carry out tests such as blood pressure checks and gives certain vaccinations.
